The designer’s atlas, 2025

Designer, NEU Info Design Theory Course Final, Adobe Illustrator

In my Info Design Theory and Critical Thinking course at Northeastern University, our last weeks were dedicated to working on and revising a concept map meant to explain information design to a target audience. I chose cartographers/topographers as my audience because not only do I have a background in this area of study, but there are endless links between info design and mapmaking.

With the feedback of my professors and peers, I eventually designed a “foldable” concept map to mimic the portable aspect of a trail map (to remain on theme). The final draft is full of key terms and topics from the semester, and all are related back to cartography through examples and analogies. I used Adobe Illustrator for this.
